2016 Players Championship Darts Finals – Last 32 Betting Preview

The Players Championship Finals continue on what will be a busy Saturday for half of the remaining players as they will play two matches on the one day as the tournament is played down from the last 32 to the quarter finals.

The last 32 will be played across two stages in the afternoon session on Saturday while the evening session will see the last 16 played out. As ever in these crash dash events time restrictions will stop us from previewing the last 16 but we can get stuck into the last 32.

Last 32 – Main Stage

The action on the main board begins with Dave Chisnall taking on Jamie Lewis before Mick McGowan fights the nine dart man from the first round Alan Norris. Brendan Dolan then plays Jermaine Wattimena before Kim Huybrechts faces Daryl Gurney in a tasty looking encounter.

The second half of proceedings begins with the all-Dutch clash with two good friends as Michael van Gerwen takes on Vincent van der Voort. Raymond Barneveld and Adrian Lewis follow them in the match of the round although Peter Wright and James Wade could easily dispute that tag. They meet in the penultimate match of the afternoon with Gary Anderson playing Ron Meulenkamp to close out the session.

Last 32 – Stage Two

There is an all-European battle first up as Dimitri van den Bergh takes on the former Lakeside champion Christian Kist. Vincent Kamphuis plays Jelle Klaasen in an all-Dutch battle and then Simon Whitlock faces Darren Webster. The first half of matches on this stage conclude with Jan Dekker against Justin Pipe.

Two youngsters get the second half of games underway when Josh Payne takes on Berry van Peer before two more youngsters collide as Joe Cullen plays Rowby-John Rodriguez. Ian White then plays Terry Jenkins in the match of the afternoon on this board and the action is rounded off by Jeffrey de Graaf meeting Robbie Green.

Betting

I like two matches in this session. Unfortunately for those in front of their TVs watching both are on the second stage but bets are bets. Opening up on that stage Dimitri van den Bergh takes on a Christian Kist who he has beaten in their three meetings so far.

After starting slowly against Gerwyn Price the Belgian ended up with a solid average in a good win and a repeat of that gives him every chance here. Kist also played well on the opening day but his consistency hasn’t been great recently and he doesn’t seem to like playing van den Bergh so I’m with the Belgian there.

Later in the afternoon I like Ian White against Terry Jenkins. Credit to Jenkins for coming through against Mark Webster but Ian White is a notch up from that and I’m surprised there are a couple of bookies who have this priced up quite close. Jenkins is approaching the end of his career whereas White is in his prime and at 10/11 he has to be the call there.
