2017-18 Premier League – Leicester vs West Brom Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football which this week sees two sides in the bottom half of the table going up against each other when Leicester City host West Bromwich Albion at the King Power Stadium.

It is fair to say that neither of these sides have begun the season how they would have wanted to but they get the chance to come out of the international break and lay a marker down and begin some good form here.

Leicester City

It would be unfair to write Leicester off after their start to the season. Anyone who expected too much more than what they have would be asking a lot given the fixtures they have had. They have host Liverpool and Chelsea already and they have also been to Arsenal and Man Utd so five points so far is not terrible.

Having failed to pick up any bonus points from those matches though it is now imperative that they take full advantage of the so called softer fixtures. While this looks like a more comfortable game Foxes fans will know that their record against West Brom at home is very indifferent. That needs to change here.

West Brom

Tony Pulis’ side began the season pretty well with a couple of wins over Bournemouth and Burnley but now they have gone five matches without a win and will be eager to get back to winning ways. We can let them off the defeat at Arsenal and to be fair the draw with Watford last time out doesn’t look too bad but they will want a win.

It will be interesting to see if, having signed some more positive players in the transfer window, Pulis releases the shackles for this match and lets his side go and express themselves. To be fair for a period in the first half against Arsenal they looked very positive on the counter attack. West Brom tend to go well at Leicester.

Team News

Leicester will have Jamie Vardy available after the forward recovered from the injury which kept him out of England duty last week. Wilfred Ndidi is also fit for the home side but Robert Huth misses out.

West Brom are sweating on the fitness of Hal Robson-Kanu and James Morrison who both came back from international duty with knocks. Nacer Chadli is another who could be out with injury too.

Betting

I am hoping that with the struggles both sides have had this season that they open up for this one and have a go at getting the win they could really do with. If they do that then we should get a decent Monday night contest to watch.

Six of the last seven meetings between these two in Leicester have seen both sides find the back of the net and I think there could be something in that. That suggests that what I predict might happen in terms of them both relaxing and believing they can win will happen so with that in mind both teams to score could be the way to go here.
