2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 20th January Matches Betting Preview

It is a busy Saturday in the Premier League this week with eight matches on show and events at both ends of the table under the spotlight in the various kick off times. The title might be a foregone conclusion but there is a lot to play for below City on what should be another intriguing day.

We are back to the three kick off times on Saturday with two live matches in the UK and plenty of other ways to keep up to date with the other games. We’ll go through everything in kick off order.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at the Amex Stadium where Brighton and Hove Albion host the champions Chelsea. A month or so ago Brighton looked safe as houses in the Premier League but they have skidded dangerously close to the relegation zone and could do with a win to pull clear again. Chelsea could well prove to be the closest challengers to City this season and a win would confirm that.

3pm Matches

Arsenal are in action in the 3pm matches. They host injury ravaged Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium while West Ham host Bournemouth in a big match towards the bottom of the table at the London Stadium. Burnley welcome Man Utd to Turf Moor while at Goodison Park Everton play host to West Brom.

Paul Lambert takes charge of his first match as Stoke manager on Saturday when they host a Huddersfield side who are sliding towards the relegation zone too quickly for their liking with the other 3pm match coming from the King Power Stadium where Leicester take on out of form Watford.

Late Game

A busy day in the Premier League comes to a close at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City will look to take another step towards the title when they play host to a Newcastle side who neutrals will hope are more positive than they were when these two sides met at St James’ Park last month. That wouldn’t be too difficult.

Betting

I like two bets across this card with the first of them coming from the Emirates Stadium where I like both Arsenal and Crystal Palace to find the back of the net. Arsenal need a statement performance in attacking areas to put the Alexis Sanchez saga behind them but Palace have so much pace and trickery in the wide areas that I think they are going to get up the pitch and I expect them to find the net along the way. At acceptable odds I’ll take both to score here.

I also like goals at the London Stadium where West Ham host Bournemouth. The Cherries have sprung into life in recent weeks and I see no reason why that will change here but we saw at Huddersfield last week how devastating West Ham can be in attacking areas when they get it right. These two played out a 3-3 draw last month and I’m expecting at least half as many goals here too.

Tips

WON – Back Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – Both teams to score for a 4/10 stake at 1.75 with Betfair

Back West Ham vs Bournemouth – Over 2.5 goals for a 4/10 stake at 1.90 with Betfair
