2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 21st April Matches Betting Preview

There are two matches in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon despite a truncated fixture list die to the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Events at the bottom end of the table are more the centre of attention than anything else on Saturday.

We have one match in the now usual lunchtime kick off time and then one more at the traditional 3pm slot. The first game is live on TV for those of us who are in the UK with the second one needing other ways of watching. We’ll start with the TV match.

West Brom vs Liverpool

West Bromwich Albion go into the early kick off looking to build on their fine win over Manchester United last week while Liverpool will be looking to keep up the chase of the same opponent when they travel to The Hawthorns.

This is a big match for the Baggies who could actually be relegated this weekend if things do not go their way. They might just be getting Liverpool at the right time too with Liverpool’s eyes likely to be on the Champions League semi-final in midweek. That certainly puts me off backing the Reds and indeed the goals which are my usual ports of call but with no real desire to back West Brom either I’ll sit this one out.

New Customers can get Man Utd at an enhanced 50/1 to beat Spurs. Max Stake £1. Winnings paid in free bets. Full T&Cs Apply. 18+|Gamble Aware.

Watford vs Crystal Palace

The second match of the afternoon is a massive one for Crystal Palace. I still don’t think Palace will go down but they can almost secure their safety this season when they travel to Vicarage Road to face a Watford side who have been on the beach for a while now.

Watford have nothing to play for so you would have to say that Palace are probably worthy favourites but I think the better bet comes in the form of goals. Watford tend to find the net pretty regularly at home and given that they can play with freedom they should trouble Palace here but at the same time Palace have a real goal threat in them.

I’m not convinced I would back Palace to hold onto a narrow lead in this match and if Watford score Palace will have to come out. It should all equate to over 2.5 goals in a fixture that could be more exciting than it looks on paper.
