2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 23rd September Matches Betting Preview

It is a busy Saturday in the Premier League this weekend with eight of the top nine in the table heading into the weekend all in action including both Manchester clubs. That means we should be in for an exciting day of action up and down the country over the usual three Saturday kick off times.

Early Kick Off

The action all gets underway at the London Stadium where West Ham will look to continue their recent upturn in form when they host their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs can move up to third for a couple of hours if they win while West Ham will come away from the bottom three if they can claim the points.

3pm Matches

Two sides surprisingly in the top seven at this stage of the season meet at Turf Moor when Burnley host Huddersfield while a misfiring Everton side welcome Bournemouth to Goodison Park. The leaders Man City host struggling Crystal Palace while their nearest challengers Manchester Utd make the trip to Southampton.

The champions Chelsea are also on the road on Saturday afternoon. They face a difficult trip to the Bet365 Stadium to take on a Stoke side who are usually good at home. Swansea host Watford in the other match to kick off at the traditional slot.

Late Game

Arguably the best game of the day is saved for last once again as Leicester City host Liverpool for the second time in four days. Liverpool lost at the King Power Stadium in the Carabao Cup in midweek and will be eager to avoid a repeat while Leicester will be looking to get their Premier League campaign back on track.

Betting

This is a day where I have plenty of fancies but am finding the trigger harder to pull than I would like. In the end I have decided to go with just the one bet which comes in the late game when Leicester City host Liverpool once again.

All the talk is of Liverpool being in a crisis and while I wouldn’t be quick to subscribe to the fact that all is rosy at Anfield I do think some of the talk is a little over the top. One thing that can’t be ignored is that they have defensive issues and the potential of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip missing this match won’t help that.

I don’t think Leicester are completely watertight at the back either but both sides can be very good going forward so I am expecting to see goals here. Leicester will take confidence from the midweek win but had Liverpool taken their chances they would have been out of sight by half time. The big guns will be back for the Reds here but they will always be frail at the back so over 2.75 goals looks the future to me.
