2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 26th August Matches Betting Preview

We have six matches to kick off the third weekend of the Premier League on Saturday. Most of the fancied runners for the title are in action on Sunday but both Manchester clubs strengthen the schedule before then.

As ever on a Saturday these days we have three kick off times for us to enjoy and bet on with two matches live in the UK and the other four having updates all over the place.

Early Kick Off

It is down to the Vitality Stadium for the early kick off this weekend as AFC Bournemouth host the pre-season title favourites Manchester City. Bournemouth will be looking for their first points of the campaign here while City could go top for a few hours if they can find a second win of the season.

3pm Matches

Just the four games kick off in the 3pm slot this Saturday. There are what could be described as a few six pointers at the bottom end of the table among them with Crystal Palace playing host to Swansea, high flying Huddersfield hosting Southampton, Newcastle welcoming West Ham to St James’ Park and Watford taking on Brighton at Vicarage Road.

Late Game

The match of the day is saved for last as the early pace setters Manchester United welcome the former champions Leicester City to Old Trafford in a match where it will be interesting to see if United can keep up their good form against a side who are no mugs themselves.

Betting

There is just the one bet I like on this shallow card on Saturday and it comes at St James’ Park where Newcastle United take on West Ham United. There has been a move for under 2.5 goals in the recent days but the prices have flip-flopped to such an extent that I think there is value in the overs.

West Ham never convince me defensively without Winston Reid, in fairness they rarely convince me when they have him either but that is another story, and it is well known that Newcastle have defensive issues at the minute.

West Ham were involved in a high scoring game last week and Newcastle were involved in one in midweek. I fancy the pair will serve up a few goals here before we are done with.
