2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 3rd March Matches Betting Preview

The weather might be disrupting the sporting schedule but at the time of writing all seven Premier League matches have managed to survive the cold snap which leaves us with another action packed day in the top flight.

We once again have to wait until later in the weekend for the real big guns to feature but with events at the bottom changing all the time there is much to focus on throughout the day.

Early Kick Off

The action begins at Turf Moor where a Burnley side host Everton who really need a performance and a result soon to redress the balance in their campaign. Burnley themselves will be eager for a win having gone without one for a while so there should be a competitive edge to what is essentially a Lancashire derby of sorts.

3pm Matches

This is where the interesting stuff begins. Leicester host Bournemouth in the one match of the afternoon which has little on it while Southampton and Stoke will be desperate for the three points when they do battle at St Mary’s. Swansea and West Ham share the same need for a victory and they go up against each other at the Liberty Stadium while Wembley Stadium will play host to Tottenham and Huddersfield with the latter reviving memories of winning the play-offs there last year. Finally West Brom go in search of a rare and heavily needed win when they head to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.

Late Game

The action ends at Anfield where Liverpool will look to move into second place in the table for a little while when they host their former manager Rafael Benitez and his Newcastle team. A win will see Liverpool move up to second but Newcastle still need their points for their own quest so they will be hoping for a result which benefits them.

Betting

I’m going with just the one bet in these round of matches and it comes in the late game where I’m expected goals as ever when Liverpool play. They are showing no signs of slowing down and while I’m guessing Newcastle will come with a defensive mentality I don’t think it will make a lot of difference.

Were Liverpool to score early then Newcastle would need to come out of their shells and look to score themselves which is perfectly possible given the way Liverpool defend but it would also open themselves up to concede more. I think with both sides wanting a result we’ll get a good game with plenty of goals.
