2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 10th September Matches Betting Preview

After a week off for the international break Super Sunday is back with the regular two matches on a day where we get to see those who may be battling at the lower reaches of the table this season.

The Premier League table remains in the early stages but you get the feeling neither of the four sides in action can afford to lose so we should be assured of a couple of very competitive matches.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace

The action kicks off with a solid Burnley side taking on an already under pressure Crystal Palace outfit in a huge game in the lower half of the table. There is all sorts of talk of Frank de Boer getting the heave ho if his side lose this one and Turf Moor is probably the last place they would want to go.

That said since Burnley knocked off the champions on the opening day they haven’t been the most convincing side in the world but their late draw at Tottenham last time out will have done their confidence no harm.

I worry for Palace in this match. They give away some ridiculous chances and in Wood, Vokes and Barnes, Burnley have the personnel to take advantage of any gifts that come their way. Burnley don’t ship many goals at home and they don’t lose many home matches either so I’m with them here.

Swansea City vs Newcastle United

I would wager these are two more sides who will be involved in the relegation reckoning for much of the season but one of them will give themselves some early breathing space if they can win this match.

Swansea didn’t offer too much in their opening two matches but they saw off a poor Palace side in their most recent match while the same can be thrown at Newcastle. They were poor for two matches but beat a poor West Ham team before the international break so both are similar in that regard.

I prefer Swansea in this game. I think they are the sounder of the two sides at the back and in Abraham, Bony, Ayew and the likes I think they have enough options up top to explore any weaknesses in Newcastle. Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is not expected to make the trip as he recovers from a hernia operation which further strengthens my belief in Swansea.
