2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 11th February Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues with a very busy Sunday when three matches takes place in the top flight with both ends of the table under the spotlight once again. The games come one after another and are all on TV so we can put out feet up and enjoy six hours of wall to wall football.

Huddersfield vs Bournemouth

The action begins at the John Smith’s Stadium where relegation threatened Huddersfield Town host a side who were in danger themselves not so long ago but a decent run since then have seen Bournemouth move into the top half of the table.

They should be the side that Huddersfield look at as they try and get themselves out of danger but you get the feeling this is a big game for the home side in that quest. Bournemouth have won three of their last four and I wouldn’t be surprised if this win this but having put a fair distance between themselves and the bottom three we are guessing about their motivation. The Cherries are favourites too which takes away any value so I’ll just let them win if they are good enough.

Newcastle vs Man Utd

The second match of the afternoon sees two of the biggest name managers in the division in action when Rafael Benitez and his Newcastle United side host Jose Mourinho and Manchester United in a big game for both sides.

Man Utd can put real distance between themselves and the chasing pack in the race for second place in the table while Newcastle sit above the relegation zone on goal difference only and desperately need a result in this one.

We’ve seen Newcastle completely change their tactics when facing the better sides in the division this season and I fear they might do that again here which makes betting on this one tough. I’d expect Man Utd to win but they are pretty short to potentially have to break a parked bus down. I’ll leave this alone too.

Southampton vs Liverpool

There might be plenty of miles between these two geographically and in the league table but there will be a derby like atmosphere when Southampton host Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

I would imagine there will be a lot of passion in the stadium throughout this match with Virgil van Dijk returning for the first time and a host of other Southampton players featuring for the opposition and that tidal wave of feeling could lead Southampton to having a real go here.

We know Liverpool will look to play on the counter attack and we’ve seen them really tear sides apart on the road this season. If Southampton are willed into having a go here this could transpire to be a more open game than we usually get at St Mary’s and with that in mind I like over 2.75 goals.
