2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 17th December Matches Betting Preview

This week’s Super Sunday in the Premier League sees two of the supposed top sides in the country in action in away matches which on paper at least have a tricky look to them which might make for an interesting afternoon.

Manchester City look away and gone as far as the title is concerned so Manchester United and Liverpool may be playing to strengthen their Champions League hopes here but their opponents both need the points to ease any relegation fears.

West Brom vs Man Utd

The action begins at The Hawthorns when West Brom, winless in 15 Premier League matches now, take on Manchester United who really need to give an emphatic performance after a couple of low key ones.

When you look at this on paper you would think that United would run out pretty comfortable winners but they don’t look the same without Paul Pogba and West Brom have just held Liverpool on their own patch so I wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t play out like that. This looks like one to avoid from a betting point of view.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

The second match of the afternoon sees Bournemouth hosting Liverpool in what should be a pretty entertaining encounter. Both matches between the two sides last season where exactly that and their philosophies should blend nicely.

Liverpool have a bit to prove here after a couple of poor draws against Everton and West Brom while Bournemouth have hit a bit of a slump in recent matches and could really do with a win in this one for their confidence heading into the Christmas period if nothing else.

Liverpool have scored 12 goals in their last three away games and they shipped four in the one prior to that while Bournemouth matches generally contain a number of goals so I think over 3 goals could pay out here.
