2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 22nd October Matches Betting Preview

The latest round of Premier League matches conclude with the traditional Super Sunday which includes two fixtures this weekend and both look pretty tasty too it has to be said.

The two matches are likely to have a significant impact on the top of the table while for a couple of managers the pressure cooker could be cranked up a notch if they don’t get the required result. This should be an excellent afternoon of football.

Everton vs Arsenal

The action begins at Goodison Park where the two sides who were in Europa League action on Thursday night meet. Everton head into the match off the back of a defeat in that competition which continued their abysmal start to the season while Arsenal won in Belgrade and will be looking to build on that here.

Something has to give for Everton soon. Either they will break out of this slump and move up the table or Ronald Koeman will lose his job. The climax of the saga is getting ever nearer too I fancy. I guess you could say the same about Arsenal without the caveat of Wenger losing his job. Their away form in the league is awful and something needs to be done about it.

Both these sides go into this match with plenty of obvious problems so while I fancy Arsenal might get the job done this does not present itself as a match I want to bet on in truth.

Tottenham vs Liverpool

The second half of the Super Sunday comes from Wembley Stadium as two sides who want to be challenging for the title meet when Tottenham host Liverpool. Manchester City’s latest win on Saturday has piled the pressure onto these two sides who need to win to stay in relatively close contact with the leaders.

Both sides had a great result in the Champions League in midweek with Tottenham holding Real Madrid and Liverpool absolutely battering Maribor and I think both will get to play how they want to here too which should make for an entertaining contest between two clearly very good sides.

I expect to see goals here. Tottenham have everything needed to get at this Liverpool back line while the Reds should use the huge Wembley pitch to exploit their counter attacking style nicely. This should blend into a really good game of football and I like over 2.75 goals here.
