2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 25th February Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with two matches on Sunday, both of which will have implications to the table especially for those sides chasing the places in the Champions League by finishing in the top four.

We have the rearranged match from Monday night which takes place first before the one that is getting plenty of hype at Old Trafford which precedes the cup final.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur

The action on Sunday begins with a London derby as Crystal Palace will look to ease themselves back away from danger when they host a Tottenham Hotspur side who will be after the points as they chase the top four down.

With the two sides immediately above them in action after this game Tottenham will enhance their position one way or another if they pick up the victory here but Palace have already held Manchester City and beaten Chelsea at Selhurst Park this season so they have to be respected.

Palace are absolutely battered by injury in this match so I fancy Tottenham will find a way to win but they are plenty short enough and I have respect for Hodgson and the work he is doing even in light of the players that are missing. I’ll sit this one out.

Man Utd vs Chelsea

The more anticipated match of the day is the second game which sees Jose Mourinho up against his former club when Manchester United host the champions Chelsea. It not only sees Mourinho against his old side but also against his arch-rival Antonio Conte with more of the build up being about the managers rather than the players.

The one thing we can be sure of in this match is while both managers will want to win the game neither will want to give the other anything so we might be in for quite a tight encounter and a potentially niggly battle which would not be ideal.

We quite often see Mourinho employ defensive tactics in these sort of matches although whether he can do that at home remains to be seen. There’s nothing to suggest Conte will be overly positive. A draw keeps United in touching distance and wouldn’t be a bad result so I don’t expect this one to be an expansive classic so I’ll go with under 2.5 goals.
