2017-18 Premier League – Tuesday 28th November Matches Betting Preview

A rare midweek round of matches takes place this week in the Premier League with four of the round of fixtures being played out on Tuesday evening. With the leaders Man City, and most of the sides at the top of the table not playing until Wednesday, there is the chance for a couple of contenders to put the pressure on.

We have one match live in the UK on Tuesday night which is the Watford vs Manchester United match and three which will need to be viewed in different places. We’ll begin with the TV game.

Watford vs Man Utd

Potentially the most interesting match of the night is the TV game which makes a change. Manchester United are under pressure to win the match and close the gap on City while Watford are going along alright this season and would love a major scalp.

United are odds on and I think they’ll have the quality to win the match but I don’t think it will be the walk in the park the odds suggest. I don’t see United running away with the match which they would have to do to cover the Asian line so I’ll sit this one out.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace

One of the more unlikely derbies given how far away from each other the two clubs are takes place at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday evening when Brighton take on Crystal Palace. Brighton have surprised everyone with their start to the season while Palace have probably done likewise but for the opposite reasons.

Since losing on the opening day of the season to Man City, Brighton have been unbeaten at the Amex but they have drawn their last three there. Palace are consistent away from home in that they have lost each and every game and while they are improving at home they need to sort their away form out. I’d expect Brighton to win but the fact they are drawing a lot and this is a derby sways me from betting.

Leicester City vs Tottenham

Leicester City and Tottenham will be looking for the three points for different reasons when they meet at the King Power Stadium. A win could push Leicester into the top half while Tottenham could move third with a win so this is a big game for both sides.

Leicester have been hit and miss under Claude Puel so I expect Tottenham to win this match but they are odds on and given they have only won one of their last four at odds on I think I’ll let them win especially given the dangers Leicester can pose.

West Brom vs Newcastle

Two sides who haven’t won in a while meet at The Hawthorns where West Brom will look to snap a 12 match winless streak while Newcastle will be looking to end a spell of four successive defeats in a game where both will be desperate to win.

West Brom showed a marked improvement at Wembley Stadium on Saturday when they picked up a more than creditable draw against Tottenham Hotspur while Newcastle were as bad as could be remembered in their home defeat to Watford.

Newcastle look to be a team devoid of any confidence right now and with Megson getting a more positive tune out of the West Brom players than Pulis managed to do I think there is enough to be optimistic about for the Baggies here. If there is a winner I fancy it will be them over a disappointing Newcastle side.
