2017-18 Premier League – Tuesday 30th January Matches Betting Preview

A midweek round of matches in the Premier League begins on Tuesday evening when three fixtures take place in the top flight. Those chasing the Champions League places are in the spotlight as is the bottom end of the table on what should be an entertaining evening.

We have one live match in the UK while there are many other ways of keeping up do date with the other two matches. We’ll begin our preview with the TV game.

Huddersfield vs Liverpool

Two good friends do battle on Tuesday evening when David Wagner goes up against Jurgen Klopp as Huddersfield host Liverpool. Liverpool won the reverse fixture between these two 3-0 and they will be out for another win here after a tricky week.

Huddersfield began the season in excellent form but they have hit the skids recently and are now on the precipice as far as Premier League survival is concerned. The Terriers are without a win in six matches and are now just two points above the drop. Liverpool need to bounce back from their defeat to Swansea in their last league game.

Huddersfield have shipped nine goals in their last three matches and have already leaked four to Tottenham, three to Chelsea and four on West Ham at home this season. They are not a side who look to shut up shop and stifle and even if they do the big sides still burst through. I fancy they’ll have a go here which should work out both for Liverpool and us neutrals as we should get a good game and one which contains more than 2.75 goals.

Swansea vs Arsenal

Swansea will look to continue their recent revival when they host an Arsenal side who are shaky at the best of times let alone in a banana skin contest. Both teams will be looking to win for different reasons.

It will be interesting to see how Swansea approach this match. They put up a clinic in bus parking against Liverpool and it worked perfectly and it would be no surprise if they employ the same methods. Whether Arsenal can break that down remains to be seen. That possible style for Swansea makes betting on the game involve a lot of guesswork which isn’t really my thing so I’ll sit this out.

West Ham vs Crystal Palace

The other match on the evening is a London derby as West Ham United host Crystal Palace at the London Stadium. Both sides have had a much needed upsurge in form since their new managers arrived at the club and what looked like being a relegation battle a month or so again is now a battle to move into the top half.

That highlights the form that the two teams are in at the minute but I like Palace here. I say that because West Ham are without a whole host of players and while Joao Mario is likely to make his debut Manuel Lanzini, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll are all huge misses not to mention Jose Fonte and Winston Reid at the other end.

Crystal Palace are beginning to get players back, especially in defensive areas, which is much needed and having had an extended break to take stock of what went wrong against Arsenal I fancy they will put that right with a result of some kind here. We have plenty of draw cover with Palace which I think is needed but I can see the Eagles edging this one.
