Another Saturday has arrived which means we have another set of League 2 matches to get stuck into. After a midweek round resources will be strained for the 24 sides in the division so extra focus will be needed when assessing our betting options.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
Lincoln City v Mansfield Town (1pm)
Cambridge United v Coventry City
Carlisle United v Barnet
Cheltenham Town v Colchester United
Chesterfield v Accrington Stanley
Crawley Town v Notts County
Exeter City v Crewe Alexandra
Grimsby Town v Yeovil Town
Morecambe v Newport County
Port Vale v Forest Green Rovers
Swindon Town v Stevenage
Wycombe Wanderers v Luton Town
Big Matches
The leaders Exeter are back at home on Saturday when they take on Crewe Alexandra. Second placed Notts County have to go on the road to face Crawley Town while Accrington in third head to Chesterfield. Coventry in fourth host Cambridge at the Ricoh while the match of the day comes in the early kick off as Lincoln in fifth host pre-season title favourites Mansfield Town.
Best of the Rest
There is a local derby of sorts at Adams Park where Wycombe Wanderers take on Luton while at the other end of the table the bottom two meet when Port Vale host Forest Green Rovers. The division’s surprise package, Newport County, make the lengthy trip to Morecambe. Swindon meet Stevenage in a match which could have some long-term potential too.

Betting
I’m heading into battle with two bets in this set of matches. I’m going to side with the leaders Exeter City in their match against Crewe. I had my fingers burnt with Crewe in midweek and I’m happy to take them on against the win machine that is the Grecians. Exeter have won all but one of their seven matches so far and showed in midweek that they can even come from behind to win. Exeter won this fixture 4-0 last season and the form they are in at the minute I expect another home win.
Yeovil Town have had a shocking start to the season on the road. They have shipped eight, four and two in their three away matches and I’m not convinced they are going to fare too much better against Grimsby Town on Saturday. Grimsby had a good win at Accrington in midweek and have now won two of their last three which is encouraging. Only relegated Hartlepool were worse than Yeovil on the road last season and they have continued the same way this term. Grimsby should have too much for the Glovers here.
