Big Matches

There is little doubt where the big match of the afternoon comes. It is from the Ricoh Arena where sixth placed Coventry welcome the league leaders Exeter to town. Notts County in second host one of the pre-season favourites Lincoln while Accrington in third welcome struggling Cheltenham to the Wham Stadium. Luton play host to manager-less Chesterfield.

Best of the Rest

There is a bit of a basement battle at Huish Park where Yeovil Town host the other side to dispose of their manager this week in Port Vale. Two sides in the play-off places meet at the One Call Stadium where Mansfield Town welcome Cambridge United while Crewe face Carlisle in a match which is carrying some extra meaning with both in the bottom half of the table.

Betting

With plenty of matches to come in this division this week I don’t think this is the card to push the boat out in. We have three rounds of fixtures in the next seven days so we are able to let the bets come to us rather than go searching for them which is always a nice position to be in. I’ll start the week off with one bet.

Accrington were my tip to go well in my ante-post preview and sitting third in the league they are doing exactly that. They host a Cheltenham side who I expected to get relegated and I still do think that will be their fate. With that in mind I’m amazed we can get a decent price on Accrington on the -0.25 asian line.

Accrington are among the top scorers in the league along with Luton, whose tally is heavily skewed by eight on the opening day, and are usually very strong at home. Cheltenham have lost all four of their away matches this season and have only scored one goal in that time. I love Accrington on this line.

Tips

HALF LOSS – Back Accrington (-0.25AH) to beat Cheltenham for a 5/10 stake at 1.91 with BetVictor
