2017-18 Sky Bet League 2 – Saturday 26th August Matches Betting Preview

The remainder of this weekend’s matches in Skybet League 2 take place on Saturday and after we had the one match on Friday night we are left with 11 fixtures in another good looking card to complete the weekend.

The table is beginning to take shape but much like last season there is a serious logjam forming in the early stages. There could be plenty of change to the table after these matches.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows:

Newport v Chesterfield

Lincoln City v Carlisle

Barnet v Stevenage

Cheltenham v Exeter

Colchester v Forest Green

Grimsby v Wycombe

Cambridge v Morecambe

Mansfield v Luton

Port Vale v Crewe

Swindon v Crawley

Yeovil v Coventry

Big Matches

There is no doubt where the big match lies on Saturday afternoon. It comes from the One Call Stadium as pre-season title favourites Mansfield host current jollies Luton in the game of the day. Early pacesetters Swindon host struggling Crawley while the other side joint top Exeter head to Cheltenham.

Best of the Rest

Cambridge begin life without Luke Berry when they host Morecambe at whatever Abbey Stadium is called these days. There is a local derby of sorts at The Hive as Barnet host Stevenage while Coventry head down to Huish Park to take on Yeovil. Lincoln City against Carlisle is another match with a fair bit of appeal to it.

Betting

I like two bets in this round of matches. To be honest I am amazed we can get 10/11 on Swindon beating Crawley. Swindon have begun the season well, as they were expected to, with a win at Carlisle and a draw against Exeter prior to their win over Morecambe last week. Crawley have struggled, much as they were predicted to. They are missing James Collins badly and injuries are not helping them. This should be a comfortable home win.

I took over 2.5 goals in the Yeovil match last week and they were involved in another goal fest at Forest Green and I suspect they could well be here too. Coventry are decent enough going forward but we saw last week that they have defensive frailties in them as well. The good lord only knows how we’re still getting odds against on over 2.5 where Yeovil are concerned but I’ll continue to keep taking it.

Tips

Back Swindon to beat Crawley for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Betfair
