2017-18 Sky Bet League 2 – Tuesday 13th February Matches Betting Preview

There is yet another midweek fixture list in Sky Bet League 2 on Tuesday evening. We were meant to have 11 matches but one has already fallen foul of the atrocious weather up and down the country so we are left with 10 games.

With the final quarter of the season fast approaching every match carries extra significance from here on in so it should be an exciting evening in the basement division.

Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows:

Accrington Stanley v Crewe Alexandra

Chesterfield v Cambridge United

Colchester United v Coventry City

Forest Green Rovers v Stevenage

Lincoln City v Cheltenham Town

Luton Town v Crawley Town

Mansfield Town v Newport County

Notts County v Carlisle United

Wycombe Wanderers v Swindon Town

Yeovil Town v Barnet

Big Matches

The biggest match of the night comes from Adams Park where Wycombe Wanderers in third position in the table looks to continue to fend off the cavalry charge behind them when they entertain one of the chasing pack in Swindon Town. Elsewhere the leaders Luton play host to the form side in the division in Crawley Town while second placed Accrington welcome Crewe to the Wham Stadium.

Best of the Rest

Notts County will be looking to pick up form again when Carlisle United are the visitors to Meadow Lane while Mansfield will look to bounce back from Saturday’s loss when they host Newport County. At the other end of the table there are big matches between Yeovil Town and Barnet and Forest Green Rovers and Stevenage. Colchester United play Coventry City in a big match on the fringes of the play-offs.

Betting

I’ll go with two bets here. The first is on an Accrington Stanley side who are in decent touch right now. I’ve been keen on Accrington since a ball was first kicked in this division this season and I’m not going to desert them right now. They host a Crewe side who prior to a draw at the weekend had conceded 11 in their previous three matches. Accrington are the third highest scorers in the division so they should feast all over a leaky defence and maintain their promotion charge with a victory.

I watched Stevenage at close hand on Saturday and I’ve got to think that they amount of energy and effort they put into facing Luton on a heavy pitch which had cut up quite badly prior to the kick off let alone during the match will takes its toll here. Forest Green Rovers didn’t play on Saturday so they should have a lot more juice in their legs and having won two of their last four matches they are beginning to pick up their form. They have a good chance of another win here and I think they can take it.
