2017 German Darts Championship – Last 32 Betting Preview

Saturday is the day the seeds come out to play in the German Darts Championship as the entire last 32 takes place over two sessions of a hectic day of darts in Hildesheim. That means we get to see the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and James Wade for the first time this weekend.

The seeded players each play one of the winners from Friday’s action over the best of 11 legs for a place in the last 16 on Sunday afternoon and a decent cheque to go with it.

Afternoon Session

The day gets underway with the UK Open runner up Gerwyn Price taking on Krzysztof Ratajski from Poland before two Englishmen meet as Ian White faces John Bowles. Jelle Klaasen then meets John Michael before Michael Smith plays Jan Dekker.

The second half of the afternoon kicks off with a tasty looking match between Cristo Reyes and Paul Nicholson which is followed by Kim Huybrechts against the Brazilian qualifier Diogo Portela. Stephen Bunting plays Dave Pallett in the penultimate match of the afternoon before the session is rounded off by Alan Norris playing Richie Corner.

Evening Session

James Wade starts the evening session when he takes on Darren Johnson. They are followed by the heavy scoring Dave Chisnall and Dimitri van den Bergh before Benito van de Pas plays Paul Harvey. Peter Wright then plays Christian Kist in what could be the tie of the round.

Michael van Gerwen and Jermaine Wattimena meet in what will be a quick fire Dutch clash before the match between Mensur Suljovic and Michael Rasztovits which is likely to be the exact opposite. Simon Whitlock plays Kevin Painter before the day ends with Joe Cullen meeting Jamie Bain.

Betting

There is only one bet which interests me on Saturday and it comes in the afternoon session where the heavily out of form Stephen Bunting just has to be taken on. Bunting has played in four Players Championship events recently and has lost in the first round of all of them and he was beaten in his first match in the UK Open too so to say his confidence must be shot is an understatement.

Bunting faces Dave Pallett on Saturday and Pallett was in good touch in the first round on Friday and that comes as no surprise as he has made a couple of last 16s on the floor this season and has a win over Jelle Klaasen to his name too so his confidence will be sky high. I don’t think it will take much to beat Bunting in this match but I expect Pallett to have more than enough.

Tips

Back D.Pallett to beat S.Bunting for a 4/10 stake at 2.20 with Coral
