2017 German Masters Snooker Qualifying – Day 4 Betting Preview

It is the final day of qualifying in the German Masters on Friday and by the end of the day we will know the names of the 32 men who will travel to the German capital in February to battle it out for one of the better titles in the game.

Thursday saw the exit of John Higgins which will put the big names in action on Friday on edge which could make for some nervy snooker. As with the previous three days we have three sessions of action to enjoy.

Morning Session

As ever there are two streamed matches in this session. Jimmy White meets Joe Perry on one of them with Shaun Murphy taking on Yan Bingtao for a place in Berlin on the other.

Away from those tables we have Barry Hawkins taking on Jak Jones, Igor Figueiredo faces Michael Holt, Dave Gilbert plays Allan Taylor, Robert Milkins goes up against Ryan Day, Jamie Jones plays James Cahill and Kyren Wilson meets John Astley.

Afternoon Session

The two matches available for live streaming in this session are the ones between Matthew Stevens and Robin Hull and the clash of the maximum men from Thursday when Ross Muir faces Ali Carter.

Elsewhere Mark Allen faces Adam Duffy, Matt Selt meets Peter Ebdon, Jack LIsowski goes up against Akani Songsermsawad, Ben Woollaston plays Tian Pengfei, Boonyarit Kaettikun takes on Anthony Hamilton and Mark Joyce plays Mark Williams.

Evening Session

The two main matches in the final session of qualifying see Stuart Bingham taking on Yu Delu in a UK Championship rematch with Mark Selby facing the Chinese player Fang Xiongman on the other main table.

Surprisingly the match between Judd Trump and Tom Ford is on one of the outside tables as are Mark Davis and Zhang Yong. Marco Fu faces Adam Stefanow, Stuart Carrington plays Sam Craigie, Neil Robertson meets Christopher Keogan and Aditya Mehta goes up against Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in an all-Asian battle.

Betting

Once again it is a case of picking and choosing the best bets as far as I’m concerned here and with that in mind there is just the one which takes my fancy on the final day of qualifying. It comes in the evening session as Stuart Carrington plays Sam Craigie.

These two met in the qualifying for the European Masters earlier in the season and Craigie won on that occasion. I think he is decent enough value to win here too. Craigie is an up and coming player whereas Carrington is one of those who does enough to compete on the tour but doesn’t kick on from there and isn’t a regular at the venues.

Craigie has shown some decent form over the last couple of months or so and at odds against I think he is decent value to add to his European Masters win against the Grimsby man.

Tips

Back S.Craigie to beat S.Carrington for a 4/10 stake at 2.25 with Paddy Power
