2017 Gibraltar Darts Trophy – Last 32 Betting Preview

The last 32 of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy will be played out on Saturday across the two sessions of action out on the rock and that means we have some top class talent on show and what should be some very entertaining matches.

Afternoon Session

We begin with the Spanish number one Cristo Reyes taking on James Richardson before one of the ties of the round as Daryl Gurney faces Darren Webster. Alan Norris then meets Matt Clark before the first half of the afternoon concludes with Benito van de Pas against Martin Schindler.

The second part of the afternoon kicks off with a pair of former Lakeside champions on show as Stephen Bunting faces Chris Quantock before Jelle Klaasen meets Magnus Caris. The afternoon is then rounded off with Michael Smith against another Lakeside winner in Christian Kist and Joe Cullen playing Rob Cross.

Evening Session

The evening gets underway with the fast improving Gerwyn Price taking on Darren Johnson before Mensur Suljovic plays Alan Tabern in one for the purists. Dave Chisnall plays Jonny Clayton before Peter Wright takes us into the interval when he goes up against Krzysztof Ratajski.

After the interval James Wade will face Dimitri Van den Bergh before Kim Huybrechts and James Wilson do battle. The final two matches of the evening sees Ian White facing John Henderson and Simon Whitlock playing Steve Beaton.

Betting

The standard on Friday was so poor that there isn’t a huge amount which stands out to me here. It is par for the course that there will be some unforeseen shocks in this round of matches but picking them out isn’t easy. There is one I can see though.

Steve Beaton averaged nearly a ton in his win on Friday night which was easily one of the best performances of the day and he now faces a Simon Whitlock who has lost his last three matches and who might therefore be doubting himself a little heading into this match. Whitlock has been back to his best for much of the year but he might just be tailing off again and if that is the case then Beaton, who likes it in Gibraltar having previously been a runner up in this event, can take advantage.

Tips

Back S.Beaton to beat S.Whitlock for a 3/10 stake at 3.20 with Bwin
