2017 NFL – Denver Broncos vs Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview

We are careering towards the play-offs in the NFL season and the opening match of week 15 is a low key AFC battle between the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos in the last Thursday Night Football of the season.

Both these sides know their fate as far as making the postseason are confirmed and in terms of competitiveness there isn’t a lot to play for but pride is on the line which should count for something.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have been poor this season and it looks like Chuck Pagano will pay the price at the end of the campaign as a result. They go into this match with a 3-10 record for the season and in truth that reflects the campaign they have had. In fairness they were always going to be up against it once Andrew Luck suffered a damaging injury.

The offense have had their issues but on the flip side of that only the Jacksonville Jaguars have put up more than 24pts on their defence in the last six matches so if they can find something in their attacking play they could yet end the season well. They will be looking to snap a four match losing streak here though.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos go into this match off the back of an encouraging win over the New York Jets last week where they didn’t concede a single point. That puts them one match better off than the Colts at 4-9 for the season but like their opponents here their play-off hopes have already ended. That could give them the freedom to play though.

We know the Denver defence is going to do the business. They have built their recent success around that but we are less sure about their offense which is the concern here. If last week has given them the confidence on that side of the ball to deliver the goods then there shouldn’t be any demons in this match for them.

Betting

Only the hapless Cleveland Browns and the near useless New York Giants have scored less points than the Indianapolis Colts this season while the Denver Broncos are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league as well.

Both defences are going along fairly well and in a match where motivation could be lacking I’m happy to take under 41pts. I think Denver will win the match. The Colts have just gone through overtime in heavy snow but with the time zone differences and the short week I don’t want to play them at odds on so I’ll stick with the unders.

Tips

WON – Back Under 41pts for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Betfred
