2017 NFL – Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The final NFL match on Sunday comes from the new Mercedes Benz Stadium as the Atlanta Falcons host the Green Bay Packers in the Sunday Night Football. These two sides met in Atlanta at the end of last season in the NFC Championship match which saw the Falcons progress to the Super Bowl so revenge will be the order of the day for the Packers.

Atlanta Falcons

You would have to say that the Falcons were anything but perfect in their win over the Chicago Bears last week but they key thing was that they did win the match. I say that was key because had they not won then talk of a Super Bowl hangover would have developed and grown and it was important to prove they had forgotten what was a horrible night for them.

I think most people would have to expect the Falcons offense to produce much more than they did last week. I say that because Julio Jones only had four receptions against Chicago and that is almost wasting a man of his talents. Expect the ball to go in his direction much more which will inevitably open up the rest of the offense.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers had a very good win over the Seattle Seahawks last week but it was not completely comfortable. It looked like the Seahawks had the rough end of the decisions and even then they nearly got something out of the match so if they are going to gain their desired revenge I think Green Bay will need to improve.

They will need to improve on offense if they are going to win this match you would think. It would put a lot of strain on their defence if they do not score freely and that defence may be on the field longer than would be ideal because the Packers running game can be very hit and miss. All that said in Aaron Rodgers they have a man who can win in any situation.

There appears to be something of a wave of momentum going on behind the Green Bay Packers but I’m not going to ride it. I said going into the season that I wasn’t convinced by the Packers and last week didn’t do too much to change that with the exception of their defence impressing me.

Impressing against the Seahawks is one thing but this is a whole different ball game in terms of offenses they are facing and with that in mind I’m with the Atlanta Falcons here. Offensively they are solid and I expect them to improve as we go along on defence too. With Green Bay’s running game nothing like their strength the defence should be able to predict what is coming. Falcons by at least a field goal for me.
