2017 NFL Playoffs – Saturday 13th January Divisional Round Matches Betting Preview

The weekend many call the best one in football begins on Saturday night when the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs gets going with the first two of the four games over the weekend. The four sides in action will know they are just two wins away from the Super Bowl and incentives don’t come any bigger than that.

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles

We get going in the NFC as the Conference champions of last season Atlanta Falcons head to the number one seeds this season in Philadelphia Eagles. Having rested their starters in the final week of the season and then had last week off this is the first time in three weeks the Eagles main players will be in action.

Atlanta have had no such luck. They have been playing playoff football for three of four weeks given that they had to win out from their last few matches just to make the postseason. Their defence has been in great touch in recent times and you sense their offense is about to fire.

I’ll be interested to see how Philadelphia go here. They are back in the playoffs after a short time away and are without their main quarterback who is out injured. They don’t lack for defensive weapons though. This has the feel of a match which could turn into a fourth quarter shootout so I quite like over 40.5pts in this one.

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots

The match in the AFC on Saturday night comes from Foxboro as the New England Patriots look to take a step towards another Super Bowl when they entertain the Tennessee Titans who staged a huge comeback last week just to make it to this stage.

I think all things being equal the Titans are going to be out of their depth here and how well beaten they will be may depend on how long New England are serious about this game for. Tennessee were getting hammered until Travis Kelce picked up an injury last week but I don’t see New England folding that badly.

I mentioned last week the struggles that Tennessee have against tight ends and I don’t expect any difference here. Brady loves looking for Rob Gronkowski and his big receiver could be available for much of the evening. He has a receiving line of just 77.5 yards and that looks too low even in a game which has the potential to be a blowout.
