2017 NFL – Week 6 Sunday Early Games Betting Preview

The bulk of the week six matches in the NFL takes place across the usual two kick off times on Sunday with some juicy battles among them along with some one-sided looking tussles. A number of sides are on their bye week so the schedule is reduced slightly on Sunday but we should get plenty of decent action to enjoy regardless.

1pm kick offs (6pm UK time)

The live game for those of us in the UK comes from the home of the Super Bowl as the Minnesota Vikings host their rivals Green Bay Packers in an NFC North showdown. There is another divisional battle in the AFC East when the New York Jets play host to the New England Patriots.

There are five other matches at this time with the Washington Redskins hosting the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons hosting the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints welcoming the Detroit Lions to the Superdome meanwhile the Houston Texans will play the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens welcome the Chicago Bears.

4pm kick offs (9pm UK time)

There are four matches kicking off in this slot with the live game on Sky being the one between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The other games see the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals welcoming the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders hosting the Los Angeles Chargers in an AFC West battle.

Match Betting

I’m going with three match bets over the course of the evening. In the earlier games I like the Green Bay Packers to cover a field goal against the Minnesota Vikings. Both sides go into the match with injuries but the Packers have been performing despite their missing players. Minnesota will be without Sam Bradford, Dalvin Cook and Stefon Diggs in this game which is not ideal. We saw last week that the Packers can win matches from nowhere and while #12 is under center they should not be overlooked.

Moving into the later games and I see no reason why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can’t win at the Arizona Cardinals as long as they catch their passes and have sorted out their kicking problems. It has been a season of struggle for the Cardinals and while Adrian Peterson is likely to pep them up a touch we don’t yet know if he is the AP of old. The Bucs are competent on both sides of the ball and if they do nothing stupid they should have this one in their grasp.

Kansas City Chiefs have been the team of the season so far and they will be determined to get revenge on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead on Sunday. The Steelers dumped the Chiefs out of the playoffs last season and I’m sure that won’t have been forgotten in Kansas. We saw the Steelers really struggle last week and I expect the Chiefs defence to go hunting picks here and if they can turn the ball over their offense has more than enough firepower to get the job done.

Player Betting

I like one player bet on Sunday and it comes from Jacksonville where their running back Leonard Fournette should be used to good effect to keep a very potent Los Angeles Rams offense off the field. The Rams defence has been vulnerable against the run all season and Fournette is currently second in rushing yards this term. I think the amount of ball he is going to see he will clear 81.5 yards along the ground.
