2017 NFL – Week 7 Sunday Early Games Betting Preview

Although all the attention in the early NFL matches on Sunday will be at Twickenham there are plenty more games going on in America with some tight looking games among them. As ever on an NFL Sunday there are plenty of matches to get stuck into with divisional matches and other games alike.

1pm kick offs (6pm UK time)

There are two other divisional battles in the 6pm games. The Miami Dolphins play host to the New York Jets in the AFC East while in the AFC South the Indianapolis Colts host the Jacksonville Jaguars. Minnesota Vikings take on the Baltimore Ravens with the Chicago Bears welcoming the Carolina Panthers to Soldier Field. Green Bay Packers start life without Aaron Rodgers when New Orleans Saints come to town while the Buffalo Bills take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cleveland Browns are at home to the Tennessee Titans in the other match.

4pm kick offs (9pm UK time)

The live match on TV for those of us in the UK is the one from MetLife Stadium where the New York Giants host the Seattle Seahawks. Elsewhere there are two divisional battles as the Denver Broncos head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys in the other match.

Betting

I’ll go with three bets across these matches. In the early matches I think the Jacksonville Jaguars can cover a field goal against the Indianapolis Colts. You have to think the Jaguars will go quarterback hunting here and while the doubts over Fournette’s fitness isn’t ideal they have more than enough in terms of a back up plan to put points on the board. This Colts defence is there for the taking and I’m expecting Jacksonville to tuck in.

While Jacksonville might put up plenty of points I’m not convinced the New York Giants or the Seattle Seahawks will when they clash at MetLife. Both sides are by far better on defence than on offense and I would imagine clock management will form a big part of the plan for both sides with lengthy drives expected. Neither side pile in the touchdowns so 39.5pts is a line which may well go untroubled.

Finally I like Melvin Gordon to have a decent night. We saw the New York Giants open up the Denver Broncos on the ground last week and I expect Ingram to do likewise. He is rated questionable with a shoulder issue but I expect him to play and based on weeks of 105 yards and 83 yards coming in he should go well enough to cover 65.5 against an open looking Denver defence.
