Friday Recap
The lead was seven under par heading into Friday and it is one lower at the end of it. Adrian Otaegui and Peter UIhlein share the lead on eight under with the pair one stroke ahead of Tommy Fleetwood and Alexander Bjork. Two men sit two off the lead on six under. They are overnight leader Paul Waring and Nathan Kimsey.
There is another group on five under who will fancy their chances of landing the title still from just three back. They include our outright bet Graeme Storm, Thomas Pieters and Ross Fisher with Lee Westwood and Andy Sullivan among those on four under.
It was a good day for us betting wise on Friday with our one bet landing successfully. Bernd Wiesberger successfully saw off Chris Wood and Matthew Fitzpatrick to bring the bet in. We still hve Storm, Andrew Johnston and Alex Noren running for us in the tournament too.
Saturday 2 balls
As has been the case all weekend so far the majority of the pairings have been priced up on Saturday. There are some decent groups on the links on Saturday. Beef and Alex Levy will take good numbers around with them as will Lee Westwood and Andy Sullivan but my bet comes later in the day.
Ross Fisher vs Thomas Pieters
Match tees off at 12.40 BST
Both Ross Fisher and Thomas Pieters tee off on five under par, three off the lead and still in with every chance of landing their first Open de France title. The pair are seen as being among the best in Europe so this should be a good group to follow.
I am surprised that these two can be taken at the same odds. I would have expected Pieters to be the favourite and as such I am happy to take the Belgian at the prices. He has hit the ball better this week and but for a dodgy 25 minutes in the second round he would be comfortably clear of Fisher.
When you match the respective games of these two against each other it is hard to see where Fisher wins. Pieters outdrives him, is better into the greens and is clearly better on and around the greens. The Belgian has had his indifferent spell which invariably comes and I think he can kick on by at least seeing off Fisher on Saturday.
