2017 Ram Slam T20 Challenge – Dolphins vs Warriors Betting Preview

The Ram Slam T20 Challenge continues with one more match in the competition on Wednesday when the Dolphins host the Warriors at Kingsmead in Durban. We are still relatively early in the competition but this feels like an important match for both sides.

The Dolphins have played three matches in the tournament to date with a win, a defeat and a rained out match while the Warriors have played twice and lost them both which is less than ideal.

Dolphins

The Dolphins will be frustrated since their opening win in the competition. They thrashed the Cape Cobras to get their tournament up and running but since then they have had a washout against the Knights and then lost a last ball thriller to the Highveld Lions in their latest outing. They were beaten much more comprehensively than that in reality though.

A lack of runs was the issue against the Lions but in both matches their bowling attack has given up decent enough performances. They ran into a special knock from Reeza Hendricks last time out so they shouldn’t be too down on themselves but at the same time it is important that they pick up another win soon.

Warriors

It has not been the beginning to the season that the runners-up from last season would have liked. They have played twice and lost twice although one of them defeats can be excused as it came against a Titans side who look pretty rampant at the minute. The other defeat to the Knights was more of a concern it must be said.

Their problem so far in this campaign has been their regular loss of wickets. One of their strengths last season was the partnerships they put together but they have been unable to get them going this season which was ultimately left them short with the bat. They have a fair bowling attack but that makes no difference when there are no runs on the board.

Betting

When this fixture was coming around I was leaning towards a punt on the Warriors but then I check the Durban weather forecast for the match and I see a story of woe. Thunderstorms are forecast throughout the day and into the game time so I’m reluctant to get involved in a shortened affair having already lost money on one of them in the tournament.

There are still plenty of matches to come in this competition and plenty of cricket over the course of the winter that we don’t need to take risks with the weather and things and I’m not going to do that here.
