2017 Riga Masters Qualifying – Day 3 Betting Preview

It is the final day of qualifying for the Riga Masters inside the Guild Hall in Preston on Friday with the remaining players left to book their spot in the Latvian capital for the main event all trying to do so over three sessions of action.

Morning Session

There are six matches in this session with Ricky Walden taking on Cao Yupeng on one of the live streamed tables and Matt Selt facing Sam Baird in an interesting match on the other.

Away from the spotlight two amateurs meet when James Silverwood takes on the youngster Jackson Page while Nigel Bond and Dominic Dale battle in a clash of the veterans. Rory McLeod meets Xiao Guodong and Adam Duffy plays Noppon Saengkham in the other matches.

Early Afternoon Session

One of the ties of the round takes place in this session as Mark Allen meets Jack Lisowski in a brutal draw for both. That is on the streamed table as is the match between Michael White and Rhys Clark.

Billy Joe Castle and Alexander Ursenbacher begin their seasons on the outside table against each other while Elliot Slessor takes on Jamie Rhys Clarke. Daniel Wells against Peter Ebdon and Lee Walker against Mei Xiwen completes the session.

Late Afternoon Session

The final four matches take place in this session with Mark King getting central billing when he takes on Chris Totten. Shaun Murphy and Luca Brecel collide in a humdinger on the other main table while away from the cameras Robbie Williams faces Xu Si and David Grace meets Ashley Carty.

Betting

This hasn’t been a profitable qualifying section for me but I’m hoping to turn my fortunes around with one bet on Friday and it comes in the afternoon where I like Lee Walker against Mei Xiwen.

Walker finished last season on the up and practicing with Mark Williams will never do him any harm and having followed Williams’ tweets recently he appears to be putting a lot of work in. Xiwen faded the longer last season went on and if there is a hangover from that Walker will be fine here. Walker’s tactical game can tie his opponent up and he has enough scoring to get the job done on the back of that.

Tips

WON – Back L.Walker to beat M.Xiwen for a 4/10 stake at 2.00 with Coral
