2017 Riga Masters Snooker – Second Round Betting Preview

The second and third rounds of the Riga Masters will take place on a busy Saturday in the Latvian capital and by the end of it we will have the identity of the eight men who will fight it out for the title on Sunday.

We had plenty of shocks and some good snooker on the opening day of the tournament as is often the case in these quick fire events. That leaves us with an intriguing set of matches on Saturday. Time restrictions mean we can’t preview the third round but we can look at the second round.

Big Matches

The three matches which jump off the in this set of games are Mark Williams against Luca Brecel, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh against Anthony McGill and Robert Milkins against Ryan Day. All six men are quite capable of winning this tournament it must be said. Kurt Maflin against Jimmy White also catches the eye.

Best of the Rest

Joe Perry could be a dark horse for this tournament and he goes up against Tian Pengfei while Jack Lisowski, a winner for us on the first day, meets Lukas Kleckers. Mark Davis and Sam Craigie both had good wins in the first round and their rewards are a clash with each other.

Betting

There is just the one bet I like on Saturday’s second round. Hossein Vafaei was the subject of many of my bets last season and I don’t expect much to change this term either while he goes under the radar and I’m going to hit him right from the start by taking the Iranian to beat Paul Davison.

Vafaei took advantage of a walkover in the first round but he already has a win over Anthony Hamilton to his name this season and I’m expecting big things from him this season. Davison is a solid player but he isn’t going to power score against anyone. Vafaei can and I expect him to come through with a bit in hand here.

Tips

Back H.Vafaei (-1.5 frames) to beat P.Davison for a 4/10 stake at 1.80 with Skybet
