2017 Royal London One Day Cup – Sunday 30th April Matches Betting Preview

The Royal London One Day Cup continues with six more matches across the two groups on Sunday as the early tables begin to take shape on what is the fourth day of action in the competition.

There are two matches in the North Group on Sunday and four in the South. Sadly there is no TV coverage of any of these games so we will be restricted to county sites and radio commentaries for updates.

North Group

Derbyshire and Northamptonshire will go in search of their first wins in the competition when they meet in Derby on Sunday while the other match in the group comes from Grace Road as Leicestershire and Worcestershire look for a second win in as many matches.

South Group

All the sides with the exception of Kent are in action in this group. Middlesex host Gloucestershire at Lord’s while Somerset look to build on their win over Surrey when they head to Hove to take on Sussex. Essex host Hampshire in one of the matches of the day while the other game sees Glamorgan hosting Surrey in Wales.

Betting

I’m sticking with the South Group here. The first bet is on Middlesex who I think will have too much for Gloucestershire. Middlesex banged out the highest total in the competition so far on Thursday but ultimately it was in vain as the rain scuppered their chances but if they are putting up runs like that they will be tough to beat with a very solid bowling attack. Gloucestershire were outgunned by Glamorgan on Thursday and I worry for their batting if they don’t get off to a good start. Middlesex look the more rounded side to me.

Somerset came from the dead to win their first match of the competition and it is results like that which do wonders for belief in a side. Sussex might be lacking that after conceding that mountain of runs to Middlesex and their batting looks a bit too light for my liking especially against a solid Somerset attack. We know Somerset bat deep and that could be the difference in this one.
