2017 Royal London One Day Cup – Wednesday 17th May Matches Betting Preview

The final day of group matches in the Royal London One Day Cup sees the South Group draw to a close. At the end of the day we will know the identity of all six sides who will remain in the competition.

Essex head into the final day just needing to avoid defeat at Kent to secure a passage straight into the semi-final while Somerset could catch them if they slip up. Surrey are looking to hold off a raft of sides for third place in the group.

The fixtures for the final day are as follows:

Hampshire vs Sussex

Gloucestershire vs Surrey

Kent vs Essex

Middlesex vs Somerset

Unfortunately a look at the weather forecast for all four of these matches does not make good reading. Indeed there is a greater than 95% chance of heavy rain throughout the times play is meant to be going on in all four matches.

It looks like the best any of the eight counties in action can hope for is a break in the clouds to get a 10 over slog in and push for whatever the need to get where they want to be but I can’t be betting a) in the hope of a break in the clouds and b) on a complete slog fest so I’ll sit this final day out and wait for the Championship to return at the weekend.
