2017 Specsavers County Championship – Monday 19th June Matches Betting Preview

After two wonderful Royal London One Day Cup matches over the weekend the Specsavers County Championship is back in the spotlight for the next few weeks. Next week is the first ever day night round of matches but there is one more set of fixtures before then and they begin on Monday.

There are six matches across the two divisions on Monday with a couple of really tasty fixtures among them so we should be in for a good week of cricket in what is something of a heatwave in the UK this week.

Division One

The leaders Essex have the chance to extend their advantage at the top of the table when they host Warwickshire at Chelmsford while second placed Yorkshire will hope to keep up with them when they head to Middlesex in a repeat of the title decider of last season. Hampshire go to Lancashire in the other match in this division.

Division Two

The leaders of this division are in action too when Nottinghamshire welcome local rivals Leicestershire to Trent Bridge but the match of the week comes from New Road as third placed Worcestershire host second placed Kent while at the other end of the table Durham host Glamorgan up at Chester-le-Street.

Betting

I’m going to take two bets in this round of matches with one in each division. In the top flight the champions Middlesex are missing some big players through either injury or call ups to England or the England Lions. It means they will be without Adam Voges, Dawid Malan, Tom Helm and Nick Gubbins and they are four big players. Yorkshire are missing some to England but that is nothing new to them. They have hit form in recent times and can get their Lord’s revenge.

Worcestershire’s season has capsized since Tom Kohler-Cadmore departed and that isn’t really a surprise because he was such a big player. Kent are buzzing at the minute and you know they fancy the job of promotion by the fact they have brought in Yasir Shah. He is likely to be a danger given the conditions this week and I think Kent can put more misery on Worcestershire in the race behind Nottinghamshire.
