We move into the second half of the Turkish Airlines Open on Saturday when the third round takes place in the latest Rolex Series event. Saturday is ‘moving day’ and there are plenty of players nicely placed to make their moves on what should be an exciting day of golf.
Friday Recap
There were three leaders heading into Friday but there is very much only one now as Nicolas Colsaerts has stolen something of a march on the field. He leads by four shots on 14 under par with Eddie Pepperell the only other man double figures under the card. He is 10 under.
Our pre-tournament pick Kiradech Aphibarnrat is third on his own on nine under with four players, including Matthew Fitzpatrick and Shane Lowry, another shot further back on eight under. The likes of Thomas Pieters, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose are all stalking the leaders and are in the top 20.
Our one bet on Friday was a winner with Tyrrell Hatton coming through by three shots against his playing partners so we are having a decent week which we will hope continues on Saturday.

Saturday Betting
There is no market for the third round leader or anything like that so the only sort of long-term market we have to go at is the outright one. Given that I’m on the player sat in third place there is no need to get involved in that again just yet so I will go back to the three ball pairings for a bet on Saturday’s action.
Saturday 3 balls
Although we are into the weekend the field is still going out in threes on Saturday with the leaders once again out at 9.05 GMT. That trio is Nicolas Colsaerts, Eddie Pepperell and Kiradech Aphibarnrat. The third last group out is Shane Lowry, Lee Westwood and Thomas Pieters which will be popular with the crowds but it is another one which I like the look of from a betting point of view on Saturday.
Justin Rose/Dylan Frittelli/Thorbjorn Olesen
Match tees off at 08.25 GMT
Three men who are sat inside the top 20 but a fair way back on five under par around out in the fifth last pairing on the golf course when last week’s winner Justin Rose goes out with the defending champion Thorbjorn Olesen and Lyoness Open winner Dylan Frittelli.
These three may be on the same score heading into the third round but they have got their scores in markedly different styles. Tee to green, Justin Rose has been the best player in the field this week. Only Bernd Wiesberger has hit more fairways than him and nobody has hit more greens in the right number. As yet his putter has been cold but we saw last week how that can suddenly hot up.
Olesen and Frittelli are much lower down the tee to green rankings which means their chances aren’t as regular as Rose’s and over an 18 holes where the course should play easier I’m expecting the amount of time Rose has his ball in play to equate to a win in this three ball.
