2018-19 Premier League – Saturday 1st December Matches Betting Preview

After the Friday Night Football to kick off the weekend, there are six more matches in the Premier League on Saturday as the division opens up December in earnest. The best matches have been saved until Sunday this week but both Manchester clubs are in action on Saturday.

There is no early match on Saturday so we have just the two kick off times with events in the middle of the table and down towards the bottom of it taking centre stage over the course of the day it is fair to say.

3pm Matches

The champions Manchester City are in action in the traditional kick off time on Saturday when they play host to Bournemouth in probably the pick of the matches on the day. Two sides at the wrong end of the table meet at the John Smith’s Stadium as Huddersfield Town host Brighton with two more strugglers meeting at Selhurst Park when Crystal Palace go up against Burnley.

Leicester will be looking to kick on after their tough November when they go up against a Watford side who will be aiming to show that their manager staying has rejuvenated them and in the other match a resurgent Newcastle United take on a West Ham side who will have to battle back from the disappointment of losing to the champions last week.

Late Game

There will be plenty of eyes on both teams in the late game as Southampton take on Manchester United. Southampton are under huge pressure to pick up a win while United are always under pressure to get the job done. Both teams have flattered to deceive this term but you would think United have to win this else the scrutiny on Mourinho would really intensify. Southampton’s home form makes them the perfect opponent for the former champions.

Betting

There is just the one bet that I like on Saturday but after a winner on Friday that is no bad thing. West Ham’s injuries are a continual concern for me and as such I think they are going to be vulnerable when they head to Newcastle United.

Newcastle look to be a team on the up with three successive wins and they were probably value for a bigger win than they achieved on Monday night at Burnley. Benitez said all along that they would struggle to begin with but when they played sides in and around them they would pick up sufficient points to maintain their position in the league. They have been true to his word and with West Ham seemingly incapable of keeping a clean sheet I fancy Newcastle can win another one here.
