2018-19 Premier League – Sunday 10th February Matches Betting Preview

There are two matches in the Premier League on Sunday as two of the title challengers look to keep their pursuit of the league trophy on track on what has all the makings of an important afternoon in the competition.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are the two sides in question, and they will both be eager to replicate Liverpool’s win on Saturday. Both have competent opponents though who will be out to spoil the party.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City (13.30)

The opening match of the day sees the two sides who battled it out for the Premier League title three seasons ago doing battle when Tottenham Hotspur take on the side who pipped them to glory in Leicester City.

Spurs go into the match knowing they really have to win if they are going to keep their charge for the title up but they remain without a whole host of players and you’ve got to think that they are vulnerable to a Leicester side who have recently gone to Anfield and held Liverpool and also beaten Chelsea and Manchester City not too long ago.

We saw all the dangers that Leicester possess at Anfield and the Foxes can play high enough to trouble the Tottenham defence. Spurs have the players to do likewise the other way but perhaps not as many of them as they would like. I think Leicester can take something from this match with their attacking core and the fact they clearly up their game against the big boys. Some of the Asian prices on them are huge and I’ll take one of them..

Manchester City vs Chelsea (16.00)

The second half of the Super Sunday double header sees two powerhouses of the Premier League going at it in what is a dress rehearsal for the Carabao Cup final in a couple of weeks as Manchester City host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea are one of the few teams to have beaten Manchester City this season so the champions will be out for revenge for that loss at Stamford Bridge. In fairness to Pep Guardiola’s men, they dominated that match but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. Whether either side see this as a chance to lay a marker down for the cup final later in the month I’m not sure.

I think City will win this match but I’m not sure there is a huge amount of value in them given that they played on Wednesday night and that they are under all sorts of pressure to win the match. I think rather than bet on the game, I’ll just let them win assuming they are good enough to do so.
