2018-19 Premier League – Sunday 26th August Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues on Sunday afternoon when three more matches in the top flight takes place up and down the country. With the Monday Night Football being the juicy game this week it is a chance for those lower down the food chain to thrive.

Two of the three matches make up this week’s Super Sunday with the other match being played on Sunday due to Burnley having played in the Europa League on Thursday evening. It looks a competitive card if nothing else.

Watford vs Crystal Palace

The opening match of the two on TV on Sunday afternoon comes from Vicarage Road where two London clubs do battle for three valuable points. Both teams have made positive starts to their campaign and whoever comes out on top here will spend their bank holiday very happy indeed.

Watford have begun their campaign with wins over Brighton and Burnley while Palace have a win over Fulham to their name as well as a defeat against to Liverpool on Monday night but they showed in that one that they will cause plenty of sides plenty of problems. Naturally I find Watford games hard to bet on so I’ll sit this one out as I’m not worried about an interest in it.

Fulham vs Burnley

The match away from the cameras comes from Craven Cottage when Fulham go in search of their first points of the season when they host the Europa League chasing Burnley who are yet to win a match this campaign themselves. Saturday’s matches mean that both these sides begin the match in the bottom four and both will be eager to come out of that position.

This feels like a good time to take Burnley on. I don’t necessarily think their European adventure will cost them too much per se but a trip to Greece and playing half an hour with 10 men and then the journey back is likely to take its toll so the last thing they need is to come up against a vibrant and mobile Fulham side.

Fulham have played a lot better than their results have suggested so far but they can make up for that by getting their first win of the season at the third attempt.

Newcastle vs Chelsea

The final match of the afternoon sees Newcastle United playing host to Chelsea with the home side looking for their first win of the campaign and Chelsea looking for a third which will see them go level with Liverpool at the top of the table.

I think Chelsea will win this match but I’m not sure I want to bet on it. Newcastle have the ability to keep things tight but they lack a spark and a fluency up front. That said they always raise their game against the better sides and I wouldn’t be surprised if they give Chelsea a battle here. Chelsea’s class should come through but I’ll let it do that without betting on it.
