2018-19 Premier League – Sunday 28th April Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with a triple header which makes up a wonderful Super Sunday with so much on the line. The title picture is going to get a little clearer over the course of the afternoon while the top four landscape will take further shape too.

All three matches are live on Sky one after the other and with no fewer than four of the top six in action on the afternoon we should be set for one of the best days of the campaign so far given the importance of it.

Leicester City vs Arsenal (12.00)

The action begins at the King Power Stadium where Leicester City will be out to ruin the top chances of Arsenal. The visitors have seen Tottenham Hotspur slip up this weekend already and will know the other two rivals for the top four spots face each other later in the day.

That makes this a huge match for the Gunners and one which they can’t afford to lose if they want to have two chances of reaching the Champions League next season. Leicester can play with freedom and that is a dangerous thing with the quality that they have in forward areas, and Brendan Rodgers is getting plenty out of those players too.

I think we’re going to get a high scoring contest here because Leicester aren’t to lay down if they concede the first goal and if Arsenal leak it they have to push on and try to win the game. Both these sides have defensive vulnerabilities which should add to the attacking play on show and so over 2.75 goals appeals to me here.

Burnley vs Man City (14.05)

The title race takes centre stage in the second match of the evening when Manchester City looks to go back to top spot when they make the short trip to Burnley. Many judges are expecting Manchester City to win this but there is no chance of Burnley laying down for them.

Liverpool piled the pressure on City on Friday night and it is up to the champions to respond in this match. Burnley got a 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday evening to remind us they can still give the big six a few problems so this one is nicely poised. I still expect City to get the job done and a recent theme when they have done has been to just win the game. No heroics or anything like that which makes me think that City to win and under 3.5 goals will land again as it did when we took it in a similar Liverpool game last week.

Man Utd vs Chelsea (16.30)

The final match of the afternoon is the biggest one of the lot in terms of the size of the clubs involved as Manchester United and Chelsea look to enhance their hopes of being in with Europe’s elite next season.

United have hit the buffers in recent weeks and know that if they are going to make the top four at the end of the season this is a match they simply can’t afford to lose. Chelsea have been up and down themselves but are in decent form at the minute and a win here would really enhance their chances of staying in the top four.

Generally matches between these two sides are tight and low scoring but I think we have to respect the occasion and the situation of the league table here and expect goals accordingly. Firstly, United are horrible at the back and secondly their need to win is huge. That is a combination that should see the goals flow more regularly than usual between these two.
