Preview

It is a huge afternoon for Manchester City. They are clinging to the coattails of Liverpool and if they don’t win at Southampton they will be at least nine points behind head into 2019. Southampton are improving themselves and are unlikely to make life easy for City. The first match of the day sees Crystal Palace and Chelsea playing out a London derby which is sure to be competitive and feisty and potentially the toughest match of the day to call.

The match that isn’t on TV for those of us in the UK sees Burnley taking on West Ham United with both teams having very different results in their previous match. The final match of the afternoon sees Manchester United looking to continue their resurgence when they play host to Bournemouth in what looks an entertaining contest.

Betting

I like a couple of bets over the course of the day on Sunday with the first of them coming from Turf Moor where Burnley have to be taken on at the minute. West Ham are playing some nice football despite their injury issues and picked up a good win on the road at Southampton on Thursday night to boost their confidence further. Burnley can’t keep the ball out of their own net at the present time which is a massive concern for them. Burnley have shipped eight in their last two matches and West Ham suddenly have plenty of goals in them. I’m amazed we can get draw cover on the Hammers in this one but I’m happy to take it.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived at Old Trafford we’ve seen a bunch of goals and that is a trend I expect to continue on Sunday afternoon. I say that because Manchester United instantly look a more cohesive unit going forward and Bournemouth are a heck of a lot better at attacking than they are defending as we saw at Tottenham on Boxing Day. United haven’t kept a clean sheet under their interim boss so there is every chance both teams will contribute to the goal scoring here. That leads me to taking over 3 goals.
