2018-19 Premier League – Sunday 3rd March Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with three matches in a tasty triple header which forms another Super Sunday, and there are some big games at the top and the bottom of the table across the course of the day.

Liverpool will be looking to return to the top of the table in the final match of the three on Sunday with sides battling for seventh place and looking to avoid relegation making up the rest of a decent looking card.

Watford vs Leicester City (12.00)

The action begins at Vicarage Road where Brendan Rodgers takes charge of his first match as Leicester City manager when he takes on his former club Watford in a game which could have implications on who ends up best of the rest this season.

Watford will be looking to bounce back from their mauling at the hands of Liverpool in midweek and have the chance to prove their credentials in the race for seventh place here but all eyes will be on Rodgers and his Leicester side to determine what changes he has made, if any, and how they are going to fare under the former Celtic manager. There is a bit of guesswork involved here which I’m no fan of when I bet so I’ll leave this one alone.

Fulham vs Chelsea (14.05)

Sunday becomes Derby Day after that opening match as the West London pair of Fulham and Chelsea meet in the second game of the day in what is an important battle for both sides for their differing needs this term.

Fulham begin life without Claudio Ranieri in this contest and with them now 10pts adrift of safety with only 10 matches left in the campaign this is one they really need to win if they are going to get themselves out of trouble. Chelsea are getting cut adrift in the race for fourth place so they need to take advantage of their games in hand of those above them and this is one of them so they should be keen to win here.

I don’t think it matters who Fulham’s manager is, they are not good enough defensively to get anything done. They don’t have the personnel to be good enough so they are still likely to get exposed here but they might have a bit more verve to their attacking play so I like the look of over 2.5 goals in this one. Chelsea could win this big if they fancy it but Fulham should trouble Sarri’s men too.

Everton vs Liverpool (16.15)

The final match of the weekend is the Merseyside Derby where Everton will be looking to put a giant dent in the hope of Liverpool and their title hopes. The Reds need to win to reclaim top spot but Everton are looking to build a run of form to end the season with themselves.

If Everton are to get anything out of this match then they are going to have to put history behind them because their recent record in this derby does not make for pleasant reading. They have the quality in their ranks to get something from this match though but likewise Liverpool will be confident of beating their rivals once again.

There isn’t a massive fancy that I like this season but I’ve highlighted Everton’s weaknesses defending set pieces a lot recently and with Virgil van Dijk scoring twice in midweek it might be worth taking a chance that he finds the net here. He is 9/1 to score anytime which looks a bit too big.
