It is the last fixtures in Sky Bet League 1 before Easter on Saturday, and with the table tightening up at either end, it is another busy day in the third tier as the end of the season begins to get closer and closer.
There are only five matches left for most teams in the league but there is so much still to play for. There is barely a team in the league with nothing to play for which is pretty crazy and guarantees good action and stacks of drama.

Big Matches
The two top both have very tricky assignments on Saturday afternoon. Leaders Luton Town head to The Valley to face a Charlton Athletic side in fine form in what is surely the match of the day while Sunderland in second host a Coventry City team who have already left Luton and Barnsley with a share of the spoils in recent times. At the other end of the table the match between Southend United and Wycombe Wanderers fills every bit of that ‘six pointer’ cliché.
Best of the Rest
Barnsley will look to get their automatic promotion campaign back on track when they play host to Fleetwood Town while Portsmouth will look to continue their good recent run when they host Rochdale, who need the points to come away from the relegation scrap. Accrington Stanley and Walsall are both in danger of the drop and they meet at the Wham Stadium. Oxford United host AFC Wimbledon in another match between teams at the wrong end of the table. Bradford City look to give themselves a glimmer of hope of surviving when they make the hugely long trip to Bristol Rovers. Scunthorpe United host Burton.

Betting
We are at that time in a season where teams who have to win are priced significantly shorter than they might be or should be and as such as need to be a little more selective with our bets because never does must win mean will win. James Collins is out for Luton which makes them skinny so I’m leaving them this week. I might regret that but I’m hardly going to be too disappointed if the Town win and I’m not on them so I’m taking just the one elsewhere.
Scunthorpe United have hit the skids at the wrong time and while they ended a run of three successive defeats last time out it wasn’t the most convincing draw against Shrewsbury. Scunny have just one win in their last nine and five points from 27. That win came against Southend United who have dropped so badly they look tied onto the Titanic. In that time they have lost to Gillingham, Oxford, Bristol Rovers, Wimbledon and Rochdale who are all in the bottom half and one way or another not very good. Burton Albion might not have a lot to play for here but they are in rollicking good form. They have beaten Barnsley and held Sunderland in their last two matches and show one defeat in seven – away to Charlton who are in fine form currently. Form isn’t everything at this stage of the season but confidence and a lack of pressure can be. Burton on the draw no bet line looks a bit of a gift here.
