We are heading towards the final quarter of the Sky Bet League 1 season and we approach it with another round of fixtures in the division on Saturday, when all 24 teams are in action on another busy day in the third tier.
We have a TV match to get things underway and then the other 11 matches follow with the races at the top and the bottom of the table likely to take big steps over the course of the afternoon. We should get some decent action as a result.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
Southend United v Barnsley (12.30pm)
Accrington Stanley v Coventry City
Bristol Rovers v Blackpool
Burton Albion v Walsall
Doncaster Rovers v Charlton Athletic
Fleetwood Town v Gillingham
Luton Town v Rochdale
Oxford United v Scunthorpe United
Peterborough United v Wycombe Wanderers
Portsmouth v Bradford City
Shrewsbury Town v AFC Wimbledon
Sunderland v Plymouth Argyle
Big Matches
For the second Saturday in three, the TV action comes from Roots Hall where Southend United play host to promotion chasing Barnsley, who will look to use the early start to pull themselves away from the chasing pack and put some pressure on Luton Town at the top of the table. Luton will look to answer any questions asked of them when they host Rochdale while Sunderland will look to continue their charge when they host in form Plymouth Argyle. Portsmouth will look to end a lengthy run of draws when they host managerless Bradford City.
Best of the Rest
At the other end of the table AFC Wimbledon will look to continue their revival when they travel to take on Shrewsbury Town while Oxford United host Scunthorpe United in a match they really need to win. Bristol Rovers play host to Blackpool. The other two sides in the top six meet at the Keepmoat when Doncaster Rovers take on Charlton Athletic. Accrington Stanley host Coventry City at the Wham Stadium.

Betting
It has been a bit up and down in this division for me recently so I’m going to stick to what I know on Saturday in a bid to build up a little bit of momentum for the remainder of the campaign so although one or two tempt me elsewhere, I’m going to focus on the match at Kenilworth Road where surely Rochdale are right up against it.
The statistics for Luton Town have been well documented throughout the season and I’m expecting an emphatic home win here. Rochdale head to Kenilworth Road having shipped nine goals in their last two matches, against AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth Argyle, who with no disrespect are not expect Luton in their attacking play. Luton rarely concede goals at home and score for fun. Their draw with Coventry last week acted as a reminder not to lose focus and I expect them to resume winning ways in some style here.
Tips
WON – Back Luton Town (-1.25AH) to beat Rochdale for a 5/10 stake at 1.80 with Betfred
