2018-19 UEFA Nations League – Monday 19th November Matches Betting Preview

It is the penultimate night of group action in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night and having seen a whole stack of drama on Sunday we should expect plenty more of the same here as promotion and relegation is played out in a number of groups.

England, Switzerland and Portugal have all qualified for the semi-finals and on Monday we will find out whether the Netherlands or France will join them. A number of other promotion and relegation spots will be filled on a big night.

Group A

All eyes will be on Gelsenkirchen where the Netherlands head to play Germany knowing that if they can avoid defeat they will be through to the semi-finals of the competition. Germany have already been relegated so other than a bit of form ahead of the Euro2020 qualifiers they are not playing for a huge amount.

Group B

Relegation is on the line for the Czech Republic and Slovakia when they meet. Czech Republic only need to avoid defeat to stay in the second tier but whoever loss will be dropped down to the third tier. Denmark have already been promoted and the Republic of Ireland have already been relegated so their match doesn’t really mean a huge amount.

Group C

Norway have the chance to get promoted on Monday night when they travel to Cyprus knowing that a win will move them up to the second tier and guarantee them a play-off place in Euro2020 qualifying. If they slip up then Bulgaria can still win the section if they can better the Norwegian result when they play host to Slovenia.

Group D

The promotion has already been decided in D1 but there is one more round of matches to be played. The top two meet when Georgia hosts Kazakhstan while in the other game Andorra host Latvia with both sides looking to round off their campaigns with their first win of the competition to take some positives away with them.

Betting

I’ll go with one bet on Monday night which is a pretty obvious one but I think it will land. It comes in the match between Denmark and the Republic of Ireland. There is nothing on this match from a competitive point of view but I still think Martin O’Neill’s men could be in for a long evening.

Quite simply, I don’t think Ireland are good enough to win this match. We’ve seen nothing in this group to suggest Ireland can cut the mustard here. Denmark are nothing special but they are solid at the back and actually the longer the group has gone on the better they have looked in attacking areas. Ireland look there for the taking to me and I’ll back Denmark -1 on the Asian lines happily here.

Tips

Back Denmark (-1AH) to beat Republic of Ireland for a 4/10 stake at 2.09 with BetVictor
