2018-19 UEFA Nations League – Saturday 17th November Matches Betting Preview

The fifth round of games in the UEFA Nations League draw to a close on Saturday with the sides yet to play in the competition this week doing so with the aim of either achieving promotion or relegation or setting it up for their final game.

Among the sides for whom Saturday is a busy day are Scotland, Portugal and Serbia and they make up what should be a competitive enough card for us to get stuck into. There are three kick off times so plenty of action to watch.

Group A

There is just the one match in Group A on Saturday night and it comes from A3 where it is a big night for Italy. They play their final match of the campaign when they host Portugal and they know they have to win and hope Poland do them a favour on Tuesday in order to make the semi-final. Portugal head to the San Siro knowing that if they avoid defeat they will make it into the final four.

Group B

Sweden will hope to keep their chances of progression out of B2 alive on Saturday evening when they take on a Turkey side who know they must avoid defeat in the game to have any chance of staying in the second tier. A win for them will guarantee that so there is a lot at stake in that one.

Group C

This is where Scotland will look to enhance their qualifying chances when they make the trip to take on an Albania side who they have already eased past in the reverse meeting. Elsewhere in C Serbia will look to stay in control of their own destiny when they host Montenegro in the early kick off. They could do with a win as Romania welcome Lithuania in the other match in the group.

Group D

Kosovo will look to take another step towards promotion to Group C when they make the trip to take on a Malta side who have been disappointing so far in the group. They will get promoted if they better Azerbaijan’s result. Azerbaijan take on the Faroe Islands in a match they need to win to keep things in their own control.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of Saturday and they both come in Group C. Scotland were on easy street at Hampden Park against Albania in their reverse fixture but they will know Albania isn’t an easy place to go. They will also know that if they can avoid defeat out there they will set up a cracking tie with Israel on Tuesday evening. Albania look a little limited right now so I’m not expecting many goals in this match. I think under 2 goals should provide a push at the very least but it is priced nicely enough to take a chance on it landing in full.

Romania will be looking to keep up the heat on Serbia in their group and they have the ideal chance to do that when they play host to Lithuania in what really is a must win match for them if they are going to stay alive given that Serbia play Lithuania in their final match. Romania are unbeaten in the group having got both their matches with the Serbians out of the way. Now is the time to kick on and I expect them to do just that.
