2018 BDO World Darts Championship – Day 1 Betting Preview

The opening day of the BDO World Darts Championship is a busy affair as both singles competitions gets underway inside the Lakeside Country Club on Saturday. There is always a special feel about the first day of this tournament and we are set for a good day of action.

We kick off the day with a howitzer of a match while the closer promises to be pretty special too while the women’s champion begins her title defence on what is a day where the big guns come out to play.

Betting

There are some great darts likely to be on show on the opening day with plenty of drama likely to be served up but while I assess the form of the leading protagonists I’m going to go with just the one bet over the course of Saturday.

That comes with Danny Noppert taking on Joe Chaney. Noppert will be looking to go one better than he did last year and while he was rusty when we saw him at the Grand Slam of Darts he was anything but that at the Finders Masters where he powered to the title. His familiarity with the big stage should serve him well here. Chaney is on debut and when you look at the events he’s been in and the company he has been keeping this is a massive step up. I expect Noppert to show that by winning this in straight sets.

Tips
