2018 Danish Darts Open – Last 16 Betting Preview

After an entertaining and drama packed Saturday in the Danish Darts Open, the inaugural staging of the event concludes in Copenhagen on Sunday with much more of the same expected from the 16 men remaining in the tournament.

A number of big names made it through which makes the draw look very strong heading into the final day where the last 16 will be played in the afternoon and the remainder of the tournament in the evening. As ever time restrictions will deny us the chance of previewing the evening session but we’ve two outright punts remaining and hopefully they can give us some interest. We’ll go through the last 16 though.

First Four Matches

We get underway with one of the matches of the afternoon when Peter Wright takes on Gerwyn Price before two gritty customers collide as Mensur Suljovic takes on Darren Webster for a quarter final spot. Joe Cullen will look to take his good form with him when he meets James Wade and then the last match before the interval sees two world champions against each other as Adrian Lewis faces Stephen Bunting.

Later Four Matches

It is the current world champion who gets us going after the break as Rob Cross takes on Mervyn King in an appealing looking clash. Ricky Evans will then look to build on his fine win over Daryl Gurney when he meets Simon Whitlock before two qualifiers do battle in the penultimate match of the afternoon as Darius Labanauskas meets Steve West. The world number one Michael van Gerwen rounds off the afternoon session when he takes on Brendan Dolan.

Betting

While I’m incredibly tempted to take Joe Cullen after his 106 average on Saturday I think his price is only just on the big side, if it is that at all when he faces James Wade so I’ll head elsewhere for a bet in this session.

Darius Labanauskas is a player who always impresses me whenever I see him play and he did so again on Saturday when he took care of Jonny Clayton in a deciding leg with a 97 average. I think he could be worth taking against Steve West too. I won with West on Saturday but he wasn’t all that great and if both repeat their performances the Lithuanian will win here. We should expect West to improve but that doesn’t mean he’ll beat Labanauskas, especially if the BDO star maintains his form from Saturday. The man from Lithuania is scoring very well this week and if the doubles continue to like him he will look a big price when these two leave the stage.

Tips

Back D.Labanauskas to beat S.West for a 4/10 stake at 2.85 with 888sport
