2018 Dutch Darts Masters – Last 32 Betting Preview

The last 32 of the Dutch Darts Masters takes place over two sessions of action on Saturday and it means we see the seeded players in the competition for the first time. There are some cracking matches up and down the card for us to enjoy on what should be a great day.

There is one less match on the schedule after Rob cross pulled out of the tournament on Friday but with the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Daryl Gurney and Dave Chisnall on show the standard should be high.

Afternoon Session

Kim Huybrechts gets the honour of opening the action on Saturday afternoon. He takes on a Wayne Jones who was in excellent form on Friday. John Henderson is then next up when he faces James Richardson before Gerwyn Price looks to begin another deep run. He takes on Dragutin Horvat with the last match prior to the break seeing Mervyn King meeting Ryan Joyce.

After the break we have three matches in this shortened session. Joe Cullen is the first seed in action. He faces a Jermaine Wattimena who could be dangerous with the crowd behind him. Dave Chisnall then takes on Cameron Menzies and the afternoon concludes with a cracking looking match between Ian White and Kyle Anderson.

Evening Session

The big names really come out to play in the evening session. Simon Whitlock gets things going when he takes on local hero Jan Dekker before Mensur Suljovic faces Josh Payne. Michael Smith needs a big weekend if he is to make it into the World Cup and he plays Stephen Bunting in the third match of the night before Peter Wright plays James Wilson.

After the break there are some real juicy looking matches. Jelle Klaasen faces the Winmau World Masters champion Krzysztof Ratajski while Daryl Gurney plays Cristo Reyes. The crowds will be in good voice for the penultimate match of the night when Michael van Gerwen plays Terry Jenkins and then Darren Webster and Steve Beaton meet to round off the day.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of value bets in the evening session where Jan Dekker looks a good price to beat Simon Whitlock. It has been a while since Whitlock has truly impressed me and Dekker looks to have a wonderful opportunity. He’s unlikely to get heavily outscored by the Australian and the former Lakeside semi-finalist is as good a finisher as there is. He has the confidence of beating Adrian Lewis on Friday night and with the crowd behind him here he can see off Simon Whitlock too.

Michael Smith was visibly quite ill during the Premier League on Thursday night and with the o2 to come for him on Thursday you’ve got to think if he wasn’t chasing a World Cup spot he would have pulled out here. He might not last long anyway because he is up against a Stephen Bunting who can easily knock him out on Saturday. Bunting has won their last five meetings albeit they’ve not met for a while but there are signs of The Bullet coming back to his best. If Smith fails to perform due to his illness Bunting looks great value especially as he can still win even if Smith does play well.
