2018 Mzansi Super League – Saturday 2nd December Matches Betting Preview

There is another double header of action in the Mzansi Super League on Sunday and with league matches beginning to run out for all of the sides who are involved in the action both games carry plenty of importance.

The leaders Cape Town Blitz get the day off so the chasers get the chance to do some damage of their own but in truth the day pretty much centres around the race for third spot and both matches have implications in that.

Paarl Rocks vs Durban Heat

The action gets going in Paarl where the Paarl Rocks and the Durban Heat collide in a big match in that race for third place. Paarl sit fourth heading into the match while the Heat are bottom of the pile but a big win for either will have them up to third.

These two sides have already met in Durban when Paarl Rocks came out on top in what was a rain shortened farce in truth. The key thing to take out of that though was how the Durban attack went around the park. That is a trend of their tournament so far and that has to be a concern given that two of the three matches on this ground have been extremely high scoring.

The one match here that wasn’t particularly high scoring was Paarl’s match against Cape Town when the Blitz were out on their feet to begin with due to poor scheduling. Given the potential for both these attacks to get carted on a decent wicket the over 37.5 boundaries bet looks to be the right way to play this one.

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants vs Jozi Stars

The second match of the day sees the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants looking to cement their spot in second position in the table taking on third placed Jozi Stars. A win for the home side here will all but sew up second spot but a Stars win opens things right up.

These two sides met on the opening weekend of the tournament in Johannesburg in a match that the Bay Giants controlled and I sense the same outcome could come here. I’ve had concerns about their batting all through the tournament. They have not gone away but their bowling attack is regularly proving that they are legitimate and if they can control Reeza Hendricks they might have the majority of the job done.

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants look a good side whereas you feel that Jozi Stars need one or two big players to make big impacts to win the match. I always prefer the team in that situation and I’ll go with them here.
