2018 Mzansi Super League – Wednesday 21st November Matches Betting Preview

We have another double header of action in the Mzansi Super League on Wednesday with the four sides who did not feature on Tuesday do so in what should be a cracking day of cricket in the newly formed league.

The early league table is beginning to take shape and with the South Africa internationals firmly back within their squads the tournament is set to go up a notch as the battle for play-off places begins to crank up.

Durban Heat vs Tshwane Spartans

The opening match of the day comes from Kingsmead where the Durban Heat host the Tshwane Spartans in a clash which sees two sides who have already lost a match in the tournament colliding with both not wanting another.

Durban Heat looked a very good side in their opening match but were undone by a special knock from Asif Ali. They have Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller back from international duty here though so they should be stronger now. On their own patch you get the feeling they are going to be very tough to beat. Tshwane outscored Paarl in their last game and it might be that they need to continue to outscore teams. With that in mind AB de Villiers will be crucial.

I liked Durban before a ball was bowled in this tournament and with their South African players back I think they could be even harder to stop here. I’m not sure this Tshwane bowling attack has enough going for it for my liking so I’m happy to get on board the home side here.

Cape Town Blitz vs Nelson Mandela Bay Giants

The early pace setters in the competition are at home again on Wednesday when the Cape Town Blitz take on the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in a match between two sides who remain unbeaten so far this season.

Cape Town have won both their matches with the ball so far but the return of Farhaan Behardien and Quinton de Kock should help them overcome a few hurdles with the bat. They provide power at the top and in the middle order. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants were solid in their first win although had it not been for Ben Duckett they could have let a good position slip. They have a decent batting line up though and can play with a bit of confidence here.

This should be an exciting match between two good sides. The return of Imran Tahir and Chris Morris just tilt this in the edge of the Bay Giants for me though. As long as their top order can go better they have the bowling attack to contain any side in this competition. They can show that against a Cape Town team who are yet to dominate with the bat.
