2018 PDC World Cup of Darts – Day 2 Betting Preview

The first round of the World Cup of Darts concludes on Friday evening when the final eight matches to played out in Frankfurt. It was a decent first day of the event on Thursday if a little lacking in quality but that should be made up for on Friday.

That is because probably the two biggest nations in the sport join the party when the Netherlands and England come out to play. The host nation are also in action for the first time on what should be a good evening of arrers.

Early Matches

We get going with the surprise packages from 12 months ago in Singapore. They take on regular disappointments New Zealand before Finland look to justify favouritism when they go up against Greece. Northern Ireland are the first seeded side in action on Friday evening. They take on a potentially dangerous Polish team before South Africa go up against World Cup regulars Hungary.

Later Matches

One of the matches of the evening gets the second half of the session going when Belgium take on the Republic of Ireland before the world champion Rob Cross represents his country for the first time when England go up against the Czech Republic. Germany are huge favourites to see off a potentially tough Sweden side in the penultimate match of the night before the Netherlands get their title defence underway against Gibraltar in the final match of the first round.

Betting

There is only one bet for me on Friday night and it comes in the opening match where I like Singapore to beat New Zealand. Paul Lim and Harith Lim have a decent record when combining in this tournament. They beat Scotland last year and have come through the doubles round in three of the four years they have teamed up.

This is the second year that Cody Harris and Warren Parry have teamed up and they will be looking for their first win together but I don’t think they will get it. New Zealand have only won two matches in World Cup of Darts history. Singapore matched that last year and can improve on their record here.

Tips

WON – Back Singapore to beat New Zealand for a 4/10 stake at 2.00 with Ladbrokes
